Growing Stronger to Support Our Heroes.
The Evansville Firefighters Foundation was founded in 2023 after recognizing a growing need for additional ways the community could support its firefighters and the Evansville Fire Department. That year was dedicated to completing the necessary legal and organizational steps to become an officially recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
In 2024, Founder and President Mathew Mastison focused on building a diverse and dedicated board made up of firefighters and community stakeholders to guide the foundation’s mission and establish a strong foundation for future growth.
By 2025, the foundation launched its first fundraising efforts and finalized its bylaws, ensuring a sustainable and long-lasting organization committed to serving both the Evansville community and the firefighters who protect it. Today, the Evansville Firefighters Foundation continues to grow with a mission rooted in service, support, and community partnership.
